I have a dilemma. I received two different job offers. One from a VERY good consulting firm, the other from a corporate company (pharmaceutical industry). Both in sustainability field, same salary. One 200km from home with possibility to work remotely most of the time (consulting), the other literally 850 meters from my house right now. The corporate company offers 6 months at first with the possibility to get a permanent contract afterwards. The consulting firm proposes a permanent contract. What should I do?

I had an online assessment round at Intuit and then a technical round. Both went good. But its been 15 days I am yet to hear back from them. Does intuit send closure/rejection email or is it just implicit? also what is the cooling period for intuit ? and what should be the expected ctc if things go right? I got a reduced salary and wasn’t offered a reduced week, in fact I’m working more.
Same. Working more on a big pay cut.
Same work on paper but paycut.
There's no commute, I like being home, and we're working slightly less because of efficient gains from WFH so it takes a bit of the sting off, but yeah I want that money back.
See what you can automate, then spend the time building yourself up.
I was reduced to 80% for a month and a half (back to 100% now). My manager was excellent about making sure I had a day off. It wasn’t the easiest thing to just turn off for a day, but the fact that so many people were in the same situation led to some understanding.
I did work more than 80% for a few weeks in there, but it was more like longer days for 4 days with Fridays off.
our reduced salary people are protected on that day. and also the weekends. if their day is friday, and rest of the team works friday and through the weekend, they are not to work friday, and if they work the weekend at all, they get those days back the next week.
i totally understand, as they’re the ones getting the pay cut, but it’s not like non-cut employees get the days of the weekend back. anyway, i’m not gonna complain. they’re taking the hit.
20% paycut, no reduction in hours. Although it’s fine because we need the revenue from billable hours and the VP+ paycut is saving lots of jobs.
