For hiring managers: what’s something small on a resume that unexpectedly signals a strong candidate? Not big achievements, but subtle things that make you pause and think “this person probably knows what they’re doing.”

Being clear and concise with your resume. Being vague, telling me you are organized or have attention to detail, doesn’t really tell me anything. Give me something that shows you have the skill.

Streamlined the reports with a centralized dashboard, reducing prep time from 7 days to 5. That’s organization, having the skill, and bringing in a metric when possible. Most people are capable, but I did some real-world examples to drive it home.

A really well-organized resume that outlines experience clearly. You wouldn't believe how many resumes I look at that are very unclear and unorganized. I want to see that you spent time on your resume tailoring it to the role you are applying for.

A resume should contain all the information needed to have a constructive interview.

All these answers made me realise that I need to get my resume reviewed.

Currently scheduling “on sites” for a S&O role in CA. My referrer said they can hire as L5 or L6. Would like to land in the L6 bucket as I’ve heard 5 --> 6 is one of the more challenging promotions.

I’m looking for info on what the real difference is in responsibilities (manager vs IC, cross functional vs focused, etc) so I can focus on checking the L6 boxes during my interviews.

I’m also curious about whether this is something that I should just discuss with my recruiter directly?

Got sort of an exploding offer on hand. Verbal only so far and requiring decision by Monday pretty firm. Have 3 more processes ongoing in mid-late stages and expect to wrap up probably next week. Gut feeling is I want to take the company who gave the exploding offer though. Any advice on how I can respectfully wrap up other processes/ask for extension?

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?

I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.

Background: got a promotion at current company that didn't come with sufficient increase . After stating my case I was told it would be evaluated next October, which is what prompted the initial job search.

Current TC 103K [88/15], offer 125k base [+discretionary bonus].

My father took a home loan, and the same home is kept as mortgage.
I'm paying arround 22k emi for the same but unable to exempt tax as the loan is on my father's name.

I googled a lot how to transfer it but neither gift deed nor sale deed would work as the property is on mortgage that's under bank's ownership (until loan is fulfilled).
Tax is also getting deducted, I'm paying hefty emis.
What can I do?
Please advise 🙂
