Does L1 get you a GC faster? I don’t think so. Usually people with L1 qualify for EB1 but that’s not super common. Also, to be eligible for L1, you need to work with that employer outside Us for a year. Many of us started in USA on F1 (student visa)
Also, on L1 you can’t switch your employer so if you get a bad manager or bad company you are done. Also, if you get laid off, you still can’t apply with the same visa to other companies.
The better question is- why not exclusively marry someone in the USA instead of marrying someone in India and bringing them here? That is a quicker route anyway 🤷🏻

L1A is not easy to get ...you need to be of M level outside US ...for at least an year... count at least 10-12 years if you are just out of campus
Employee doesn’t get to decide what category the visa is filed in. Most employers prefer H1 over L1 for multiple reasons..easier/less paperwork, higher chances of approval and yes L1 can lead to getting GC much sooner than H1.. biggest reason employers prefer H1 over L1.

its not about employer preferring..you have to qualify for L1A.... or L1B or H1B...all are different with very different criterias
