Thinking of quitting without anything lined up. Posting it here only bc I’m on a visa. Not gonna glorify it since I’m quitting only bc I don’t like the nature of my job or the environment. I’ve done 18 months of internal sustainability work such as building our sustainability practice, initiatives to get B CORP, SBTI, tracked carbon emissions, company campaigns for sustainability awareness, sustainability strategy. I want to move into a sustainability consulting role. Which area of sustainability consulting should I look at? Are there any courses or certifications I should do?

I have some catching up to do as I just started my digital marketing career after spending 3 years in finance. Why do people who left consulting never come back?

I finished a Health Law LL.M. last May and haven't done anything with it thus far. I'm in insurance defense primarily (Liability, UM, UIM) and just got the LL.M. because I still had GI Bill to use or lose.

Within my first year of Consulting, really struggling with the hours amongst other things. Spoken to a couple of people internally and the advice is to get on to projects with bigger budgets and therefore bigger teams/more support. I got my Bachelors in Psychology a few years ago but I couldn’t find a position that seemed like a good option for me that was well paying and fulfilling. I tried working as a tech at an Applied Behavior Analysis clinic but it wasn’t a good fit. What would happen if I left my current company, started at a new one, and got pregnant before 12 months of service with the new company? For reference, I know new company requires 12 months for FMLA, and STD is 3 months.

If I’m not eligible for FMLA, what would that leave situation look like? Not currently pregnant but husband and I are wanting to start trying soon, just don’t want to be in a situation where I can’t take maternity leave. TIA!

Hi! I’ve started Green Card process at my firm. Both me and my spouse are working on an H1B visa. Can I / Should I be including her on my application as a dependent? If not, then what would be her path to Green Card through my status.

Are initial law firm consultations usually free? I’m on H1B and wanted to schedule an initial consultation with an immigration lawyer to discuss some GC options (outside of employment based) and was told I’d have to pay $200 for a consultation (45 mins session).
