Just lost your job? To feel better, pretend you are dead
When you get laid off you can feel like a failure. I know I have in the past... it’s not that I failed at my job or deserved it, but I was angry and hurt that they chose me despite many personal sacrifices. In that way, I felt that I had failed in recognizing that the client was about to go in-house.
Feeling like that might be irrational but it’s how you might feel. This feeling is temporary and you will learn from this experience and bounce up stronger. It’s not forever. See it for what it is, learn all you can from it and move on. It’s okay to be angry and sad for a while and to feel like a failure. Failure is not the enemy. Sometimes it leads to a new path better than the old. That is what I’m saying. It’s an event, we all fail, no one is immune, we rise again.

@LB1 You imply getting laid off was a failure. A failure on the company for not keeping good talent.
Don’t view it as a failure on a personal level. Not worth beating yourself up or wondering what you could’ve done differently. It’s imperative to keep a positive attitude and know good things will come to you in due time.
Good one cuz
Someone I greatly respect once said failure is an event, not a lifetime.
