For relatively straightforward incidents, do carriers and firms ever negotiate project based fees, rather than hourly arrangements?

Sometimes, but that arrangement typically depends heavily on the carrier. The firm also has to be of a size where it can handle appropriately from a volume and risk of loss perspective.

I’ve done flat fee engagements for some incidents, but those are typically for uninsured small businesses. I’ve also done flat fees for the work up to the end of data discovery (so notification is hourly)

What’s your mix of uninsured vs insured clients? For insured clients, are you finding that you’re able to engage even if you’re not on the panel?

This is my first job in a large corporate company, and I’m trying to gauge how long it normally takes to move from entry level to another internal position in the insurance industry. I have been applying internally for a year now and I am wondering if this is normal or if my company is just slow? I am a top performer, with great metrics, and I have some wonderful connections I’ve made who support me. I just can’t seem to move up. How long did it take you to move up? How many tries did it take?

Do you guys find it easy to meet interesting people and has the city gotten any more fun?

"People just want it to work" is a thing clients have said about the product the company I work for makes. It's true. And it's all over. I usually think it's because Agile's method is what everyone thinks works but so much stuff across all tech areas seems to be released broken and then never fixed or fixed way too slowly. Anyone else feel this way? Has Agile worked for you and your clients?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi all,
Been doing privacy for about a year now in-house. Got my CIPP/US.
Having major imposter syndrome still. I feel like the minute I finally have a grasp, something changes. The law and nuances just seem overwhelming. Maybe it’s just a lack of guidance/uniformity in the US. I’m not sure if I feel this way because it is simply the nature of the work or because I’m just not capable.
