I’m not sure if I’m crying or laughing right now

Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

1. Approach it like a game / brain teaser.
2. Everyday, pick up the FT/WSJ, take an article and try and turn it into a case. What would be the problem… what would be the most important components of the solution.
3. Tools like rocket blocks for structuring were very helpful.
4. Avoid generic structures like the plague. I give the same case to all my interviewees now, and if I hear “my structure is revenue minus expenses. Revenue = price x volume, cost = fixed and variable”, I basically immediately ding them and turn off my brain for the rest of the interview.
Helpful
Luck is a huge part of it too
But in general, try to follow a process flow and use a structure in your approach
Most people aren't ready to interview until completed 30-50 full practice cases. That's in addition to drilling partial cases, mental math, brainstorm, etc.
As a counterpoint, I find it helpful to know ~6 generic frameworks because I'm not originally a business person and need the common and relevant factors top of mind. Still need to customize in the case, e.g., it becomes "direct costs such as cardboard packages, plastic and glass product components, ..."
Domain function, helps discovery.
Approach like an interesting chat with an intelligent individual. Be authentic.
IMO, forget frameworks and just focus on being a good problem solver, bringing external knowledge and past experiences.
