As I wrote in another thread, Cali is the most passive aggressive culture ever! Be warned you will not get anyone to speak their mind / be genuine.
Also no WaHo in these parts.
SF is an acquired taste. 2 years has felt like 7
LOL @ Atlanta and LA both "have a film industry"
Stay where you are
Don't do it unless you have a fat salary. California is financial suicide
Agree with Jr. CW, SF is the worst, traffic with hill and expensive housing for a room. horrible parking and crappy beaches. LA is the same but no hills and slighty better beaches. SD is great non of the above and great after work life but no good agencies or clients there and its a real who do u sleep with culture.
I'm LA born and raised and residing. Weather and food stuff to do are big perks but traffic and living expenses are suffocating. Any good agencies in Montana?
I drive an hour for 20 miles in LA that is light yay me
Sorry but Bay Area native and to me SF is perfect weather. Never too hot never too cold, but it is a killer for cost.
Leaving my east coast job for a gig here in SF has been a huge regret. I don't think SF is worth it until you're at the senior/director level. Strugggling to afford the city, all while trying to navigate adult life & deal with pressures at work.
This is just my experience though. Sure other fishbowlers are lining up to disagree.
LA and Atlanta have some parallels. You need a car to do anything as the city is sprawling. Both are good for food, although Atlanta has better Thai food. Both have a strong music scene. Both have a film industry.
LA has beaches, mountains and desert within 2 hours reach. LA has weed. Atlanta has traffic but LA has ridiculous traffic all the time.
Basically everything that peeps have said above. SFO is out unless you are making some serious cash. Taxes are going murder you then dig you up to kill you again. LA is a beast as well. It all depends on what you are looking for. SFO's weather sucks, east bay is better, la is weather gold and SD has moody weather.
no way SD has way better weather and beaches and nightlife. it just doesnt have work
^ Why you laughin?
