For those that got laid off, specifically on the manager level, how long did it take for you to find another role you were satisfied with? I have about 5 months with savings and unemployment.

Only took me about a month, but had a little bit of a jump start as I suspected it was coming the week before. Treat the job search like a full time job, explore all your options, and don’t settle for a gig that isn’t a good fit or sets you back career wise. There is no reason why you shouldn’t be better off in your next role.

If they offer severance try and negotiate! Typically it takes 3-6 mos but as someone said, treat it like a FT job. Also leverage your network(s) You never know who can help you land your next role.

At this time of year, I'm guessing 2 months, though it took me 3 over the summer.

You got this OP. It might be helpful to share a bit more info about your domain, e.g. strategy could be very different from tech implementation. Best of luck

For those that found gigs after consulting lay offs, what types of roles did you find and how did you go about getting an offer?

I’m really scared in the current economy. Any other recommendations? all advice welcome!

It took me a 3 months to get the offer, and another 1 month between offer date and start date. 5 months savings should be just enough.
