I have an opportunity to become a fractional CMO for a startup that I really like. I have no idea what to charge hourly. I’m reading online $200/hr+ but that seems crazy to me. It would be a 1099 role. Am I underselling myself if I charge $150/hour for 10 hours of work a week? I typically charge this for my existing freelance rates, but that is not for CMO work.

Potentially unpopular opinion: I only tip for food when I'm being served (takeout, fast food, counter service I don't tip). It is not my job to supplement the wages of individuals who are exploited by management. The great resignation has shown us that workers have incredible power right now and I hope they use that to their advantage. I just received an offer within the industry and I'm excited to join. That said, they have come in at the bottom of my range (I said $320k when I started talking with them in December, and upgraded that to $350k based on market movements since then) I'm particularly bothered by the clawback on my bonus payments until my LTIP kicks in.
