For those that have left Big 4 to join a Mid Tier (e.g., GT, RSM, BDO, Baker Tilly, Forvis Mazars, etc.) what was your experience? Would love some perspective at the Director level.

Are there any law firms out there with better comp than Big 4 tax and won’t work you more than 50 hours a week?

Decided that I’m leaving audit today. Trying to understand the full range of opportunities in forensics. Will have my CPA and CFE. So far, I understand that there are client-serving firms like FTI and then the B4 will have forensics arms as well. What are some other forensic accounting roles? Pros and cons? Better than audit? Honestly just looking to learn anything.

Anyone here broken into real estate private equity from big 4 consulting? What steps did you take to jump into RE PE? What gaps in knowledge did you have and how did you fill them? Outside of the knowledge gaps what other things do you think you needed in order to get into RE PE?

Is there really that big of difference in recruiting between USC and UCLA MBA? I checked MBB target schools and only one recruits at USC whereas all 3 recruit from UCLA. I would have thought it would have been about the same. Thoughts from MBB/B4/Tier 2 consulting?

Though my current company is an mnc but not that big and no work pressure is there, amazing work life balance. However, there is little to no learning and its very slow, the project is just starting and the client itself is not clear what they want. Do you think I should switch just because its a big 4. So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. About rolling off my project with no new project opportunity yet.
