For those who’ve gone beyond SDR/BDR roles, what worked best for your career? Was it mastering new skills, switching companies, getting into management, building a niche, or anything else outside the obvious promotions? I’d love to hear real stories or tips for breaking through plateaus and keeping things moving upward. Any advice, unconventional moves, or big lessons learned?

Decide on what your next move will be and try to do that internally first. If there is no clear path or promise in that, start looking outside. A lot of companies don’t care if you plateau, as long as you are hitting your goals, but not all.

Switching companies opened new doors with bigger opportunities and fresh challenges but hat really helped me move beyond SDR/BDR was focusing on mastering consultative selling and building strong relationships rather than just chasing quotas.

“Job hopper” and “quiet quitting” are all schemes made up by boomers to make you think everything is the employees fault. When in reality people are just getting out of bad situations. Older companies do whatever they can to pay you the least amount and get the max work out of you. Except our generation will just leave amid we’re being mistreated, not complain for 35 years making 50k and 0 advancement.

I was interviewed for a major tech player in the hospitality industry, had 2 interviews which for the first one the recruiter was late, and didn't confirm the interview while I emaild her to make sure I do have an interview. When she attended she said that there was no point of responding my email as we are meeting anyway. Later on I had 2nd interview with the hiring manager. After 45 minutes she said they will let me know...

My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I’ve barely taken any days off this year and pick up “skeleton crew” days any chance I get. I was able to work out a deal with my company before I came because of prior experience luckily, but they offer a terrible base salary and sham of a commission structure to new hires + no remote. Then sit here and can’t figure out why…
