Have seen several corporate associates achieve an internal transfer to litigation via antitrust—which at a lot of top firms is very in demand and would welcome the extra help.

An LLM in this case would almost certainly be a waste of time and money.
Your best shot is an internal transfer. Some firms may be willing to retrain someone they already know IF there’s a ton of demand in the practice group you’re eyeing.
If that doesn’t work, the realistic paths I’ve seen are either doing a clerkship then lateraling back as a ~2nd year, or stepping down to a smaller lit shop (you’ll get thrown in the deep end and forced to learn fast), then trying to lateral back up (but in any event there’s obv no guarantee of being able to return to biglaw as a litigator).
