I’m 24 and just started my career at EY as a consultant. I feel good about the salary I make, work I do, and where I’m at in my career. My personal life also has a ton of fulfillment and truly makes me so happy. That being said, I have a high school classmate and close friend who was in IB and just started his own hedge fund type of business after leaving his big bank job. I feel like I’m falling behind. He’s probably going to end up a millionaire fast. I try not to compare but can’t hell mtseld
Does anybody know a reasonable salary range for an IAFA SC in the Midwest (not Chicago)? I have a hunch that I am drastically underpaid.
In the spirit of the holidays, let’s not talk about work/salary/exit opps. What is everyone’s favorite way to chill on a cold winter remote Monday evening? Mine is a fat joint and Chinese takeout.
Thoughts on returning to a prior firm? Bad idea? Or ok under the right circumstances? My main reasons for leaving were better salary and to live closer to family. I work quite a bit more now so I don’t see my family that often, and am always working when I do go visit. Also, interestingly, I received a significant raise at my last firm about a week before I gave notice. So they *were* willing to pay me more; it just happened too late.
Looking At my 7-8 year old tax documents , it hit me hard when I realized with a masters and 12 yr experience , PWC payed me yearly total comp $25k as part of global mobility ,bringing me to US as a specialized skillset resource . Reminds me of all the people on the same boat today going through same situation on one hand, and the other group of people displaced from their jobs due to the low wage
I am writing a piece on sexism in the corporate workplace. Covering blatant (i.e. salary) and subtle (i.e. excluding women from golf outings) instances of sexism. Would love to hear relevant stories!
Does anyone know about whether their is company hiring for an entry to mid level business analyst? Let me know, especially if your company offers a referral bonus!
What is cyber security comp like at big4? Glassdoor has massive ranges so I can’t get a read on it. Thanks in advance
What is the compensation mobility in Internal audit? A consultant in D’s Risk Advisory which is basically glorified IA and unsure on the advancement in the industry. Any insight would be welcome!
Transferring from Assurance to PI (advisory) within the same city. currently a staff 2, but they are offering staff 1 advisory salary saying that “not everybody gets adj”. Should I negotiate?
Currently a CTL in Bain and looking for opportunities in Europe. Wanted to check whether these make sense - 1) Senior Manager Group Strategy at Philips 2) Senior Manager, International Markets at Delivery Hero The comp being offered seems to be lower than CTL comp at Bain in Amsterdam/Berlin so not quite sure on how to negotiate. Would be good to get tips on the role/firm and whether there's a way to match the comp.
Is there a “market salary” at the big consulting firms? I’m a big law attorney doing IP, and have always wondered what it would be like to get into consulting. Big law salaries are very lock step, so you get basically the same annual base compensation and bonus if you’re at the top 30-40 firms and working in a big city. Maybe more generally, I’m curious how much former big law associates make in consulting (if they ever make the switch), particularly if they understand Intellectual property.
Is startup compensation usually low? The fast pace appeals to me but don't want to take too much of a paycut
2yrs in consulting, then 1.5 in industry, making 105+15k going into 2019 in T1 city. Should I consider going back to consulting in analytics for better salary progression? (15k base inc in 1.5yrs)
The father of my 4 month old daughter declined to sign the parental acknowledgement to establish his name on the birth certificate, doesn’t pay child support and straight up asked that we avoid the...
I have to communicate to my client that I’m rolling off a project but they’re out of office for the next week. Will email suffice?
@Senior UXers, what's your salary? Are you a ux designer or researcher? Do you identify as male or female?
Is it worth billing actual hours to projects? Have a call with project manager and wondering the best approach. Suppose recently, leadership becomes concerned about project budget: they scrutinize deliverables more, and one person scheduled a call with my career coach. Timeline is compressed but P thinks is completely doable. Wondering what to do
What do you tell ur team if you have an interview? Do you just block off time on ur calendar? Feel like they would still ping me and put things on.
Hey 🐠 fam, anyone here had interviews for product management roles? Any ideas on how to prep for it? Please help!
Should I pull the trigger and apply to another job. I’ve been at big 4 for a little over a year now and I don’t see myself staying until manager, possibly not even senior. I never was super ecstatic about the job, but it has gotten worse since WFH began. Another job opportunity appeared closer to my home with the potential of a $10K+ pay increase.
Those at Big 4 - Do you think campus recruiting will happen this year? (considering that all summer interns got a return offer after 2 weeks virtual) or Largely scaled down for growing divisions only?
Can anyone articulate the need to constantly travel to the client site? Could more work be done remotely or is the weekly travel really necessary?
Me to United: I'm going to miss my connection because my flights delayed 2 hours. United to me: well you can hope that flight is delayed too.
Which spg platinum benefit is the most worth it? I'm thinking between 10 suite nights or one free night
Hello Everyone, Hope you are doing well. I need a small help and advice from advice from all of you. Recently I received an offer from MNC but a some what wierd clause is included if I get rejected in the client interview company will decide my further deployment and engagement. Quote : "For the employees who are not so selected by Client for the offers; we will discuss further deployments and engagements with the Company at that point of time." Please help me understand it.
Anyone from Genpact here? Is the Genpact IT support so pathetic and good for nothing? I see my wife struggling to connect to client vpn for 2hr in the morning and when escalated to IT they just put her into another 2hrs of unproductive long queue in Zoom to connect to a support staff who has no idea on how to resolve the connectivity issue. This has been a daily excercise right after the pandemic hit.
