Freelance question here! What’s a reasonable hourly rate to charge for some branding/UI work? For context, this is for a mobile app startup; UX is largely in place but they need help branding it and taking the visuals to the next level. I have a few years of design experience but a lot of it has been informal (side projects, work projects here and there) since I’m not technically a full-time designer. Any thoughts appreciated :)

How does a seasoned indie music producer and mixer transition into commercial composition and mixing for tv, advertising and film? I do sales for a major engineering firm. Focused on new business and exploring new markets. Last year I was in the top 50% for order intake, and first in number of projects won along with number of new customers. I think this is extraordinary given the effort it takes to win new business.

For next year my goal increased by 2.5X, and less of what I bring in counts towards that target. I really enjoy my job but I will essentially be getting a large pay cut. Lost in what to do besides quit??

I started out as a graphic designer. Worked for about 4yrs in different roles. Then i started a digital design role for 2 yrs and then made my transition into ux. i have been in a ux role for 5 years. But i want to steer my career towards something more creative. Like in 5-10 years I wouldn’t want to be a specialist or a ux director. I d like to be an art director or creative director. I love branding & marketing but also product. Would love something that allows me to do both?

But UI, never done it before... high fid, design systems etc are all so new to me. This is making me so insecure getting into the new job what if I make a fool of myself? What if I ruin projects and real client work? Should be excited but can't stop overthinking.
