100-130K
For me, I gave a $105-110k range at an ad agency and they didn’t bat an eye, so I def could’ve gone higher. This was ~3 yrs ago and I had 12 years of experience at the time.
Depends a lot on the company (startup/investor funded? Tech? Agency?) but for reference - I was making around $60k as a junior (event tech), and I'm closer to mid-level now making $70k with roughly 2-3 years full-time work experience in the field. As a senior, I wouldn't start my range less than $85k, most likely. $85-100k.
Just spitballing.
What companies are you looking at? Looking for a new job in brand design and want to broaden my horizon of companies to look at. I live in nyc
I usually turn that question back on the recruiters and ask them the range of the role they’re offering
I hired talent way above the range. As a general rule recruiter asks you that question not to know whether you’re in their range but to see if they can get you cheaper. So go ahead and state your conditions
What type of designer and what industry?
was making 65k as a mid designer in an agency in nyc. now making 80k at a shop in LA but took the first gig i got, recruiters were saying i shouldve asked for 100. know your worth and pitch up- you can always lower if you really want the gig
