My company is receiving backlash for…let’s say a poor decision that has gone viral in my city. For 3 days, almost everyone who has called customer support is just looking to insult and yell at us. This isn’t our fault :/

Get people like that who just call to complain about stuff that is just way way above my pay grade, like they give me way too much credit if I they actually think I have any influence over new company policies

Blows my mind that they call just to complain, literally put all of your grievances and put the in an email for whoever's job it is to work on bigger picture stuff at the company. It's a better use of your time and you might actually get a response from someone with power around here

We really are the first line of defense for our companies, it might not be the best part of the job but it's up to us to be pleasant to people like that and try to provide whatever comfort or solution that we can

I've been there, I just apologize for whatever they're going through and try to move it along no use trying to talk sense into callers like that

Oh wow. Whenever I see those things go viral, I wonder what it would be like to work for a company while that's happening. Sorry you're dealing with that :/
