I've never had a problem dealing with overbilling. If it happens, you just sprinkle small amounts to other jobs. Or you can also ask your manager to provide you with job numbers you can use. If you were on the clock, you always bill.
they under scoped or it took longer for you than they thought it should - you are still getting paid so why do you care that you have to move it to other jobs? Or are you more concerned about them saying that you overbilled ?
Do it. But save that email for the day you might need it
Are you an independent contractor or working as a temporary employee? If you’re freelancing as the later your responsibility is to report time accurately. The account team can worry about moving time around if needed.
