It might, but not for a while. I wouldn’t rely on AI for anything that matters at this point. AI is hype mixed with wishes and prayers right now.
No lol I’ve used AI in house and it’s still garbage. To expect law firms to predominately rely on it is foolish, imo. Also, the billable hour ain’t going anywhere. It’s been “dying” for decades. If you’ve ever worked in the construction industry, you’ll know there a tons of ways to bill that all capture the value you want. AI is a tool, that’s it. And as CLO1 said, AI is the tech industry’s hopium right now.
AI is helpful sometimes to point you in a direction to look or give you basic background on a topic your unfamiliar with but in my experience it is far from a spot that you can confidently rely on any answer it gives you.
