Hi fishes,
I am planning a switch so was going through some salary data for a software engineer. My ex-senior manager recommended me a website: Growceed.com which helped me a lot in getting clarification about a lot of things but I am in doubt whether the average salaries of software engineer mentioned on Growceed.com really that much in top MNC companies.

From what I’ve seen, VPs are always promoted from IB Associates - it’s hard to land to become a VP without spending time as Associate.
But MBB to BB Associate is very doable.
Everything is doable. If a manager finds your skills and experience useful for the role you might get hired. Your job is to explain them in an interview why are suitable for the job
Interesting that you’re aiming to go that route/trajectory. Have heard more people aiming to go the opposite direction.
What’s you’re reasoning/rationale for the move?
I like banking for the nature of the work! I like selling companies, I like raising funds and helping people. I want a high paying job that allows me to be payed for the extra effort/hours put in.
How can you like banking for the nature of the work if you’ve never actually been in it? Having a good understanding of what the job is versus actually doing it can really change your perspective. Also, as someone commented earlier, anything is possible, but very rare to impossible seeing you coming straight in at the VP level, especially at a BB. Might be more realistic at an average middle market or boutique shop.
