My firm typically does insurance defense, but we take plaintiffs cases here and there. Is it typical that work done by associates on contingency cases isn’t counted toward their billable hour requirements unless and until we receive our fee on the case? I’m have a new theory about why juniors always feel like idiots and wanted to see if anyone else thinks this makes sense.
