Getting 68 - 72k as a second year BTA. Most probably getting promotion and salary bump next year would take me to 76 - 80 as C. Should I stay or search market for more?

How the hell can you answer ‘yes’ to an ‘or’ question.

Ay. Jump ship and if you like the firm boomerang later.

I don’t mean to be overly critical but, “most probably” makes it sound like you don’t deserve a salary bump to 80k. The devil is in the details...

@C2 made a huge mistake during salary negotiations, came in as experienced hire instead of campus. @EY1 thanks for the support

Yes as in stay? @ C1

@D2 Needs to chill. There's nothing wrong with not taking a promotion as granted and the range OP provided is sufficiently narrow for the question at hand. Unless you're secretly OP's counselor I doubt you know what they "deserve". OP look for a new job so you don't run into D2 :)

How are you getting paid 68-72 as a second year BTA when BTAs for the last 3+ years have all started at 72,500?

I was hanging at the HR floor when they were making phone offers a few weeks ago. First year BTA out of undergrad were being offered 80k +12k sign on bonus. My advice is to look elsewhere

Honestly what’s more important than a early promotion ? Nothing I’m telling you. I’m willing to give up my SO, life, weekend, and parents relationship to get an early promotion.

How unusual is it to get a counteroffer that makes you stay? Had an offer in hand, was ready to resign, got an offer for a 7k bonus and 20% raise.

I'm handing off some work to a new manager before rolling off my project. A few times now she's made mistakes or misunderstood something and blamed it on me either not giving her the information she needed or giving her wrong information. I try to defend myself and forward her the relevant emails/conversations, but she just acts like that's rude (as if I should just take the blame). I can see that maybe she's embarrassed in the moment, but would she actually blame me when providing my feedback?
