Focus less on data you find on the internet and instead concentrate on the internal value you provide to your employer. Key factors could be savings you provide them from eliminating waste, depth of knowledge for both your industry and employer, and upward potential.
However, leveraging data you find online, such as Glassdoor, is risky as much of the data is suspect. Anyone can self-report a salary, regardless of it being accurate. There are no checks and balances. Plus, the biggest challenge of pricing jobs against market is when people focus on Job Titles instead of Job Descriptions. Details matter more than titles and a lot of times employers use the wrong title on a position which misleads someone into thinking they should be paid more than they truly provide the employer.
You can leverage data from the outside if you want...but you will want to take steps to be prepared to address these concerns. Otherwise, it can work against your case.
