I have an opportunity to join an investment sales team specializing in office and industrial in a tier 1 city. I would normally jump at this, but the uncertainty around everything coronavirus makes me nervous about going commission based. How are the IS brokers out there doing?

There’s definitely a salary component, but yes the brokerages are culling bonuses and freezing hiring so I’m surprised there is a role to begin with. I’d say the industrial tilt will mitigate some of that, but you an anticipate activity to pick back up rapidly over the next few years. If it’s a decent base pay and the direction you want to head in your career, I’d say go for it

I work with a classroom of Middle School ED students. One student, who I worked with the year before, has changed alot over the year. Last year (pre COVID), she had a good head on her shoulders and I thought I had good rapor with her. But over that period of isolation, she tried to commit suicide.

All year, she was much more withdrawn and ALWAYS on her phone! At the end of the I was 'beat up by her - she really knocked my glasses off.

How should I approach her in the upcoming year?

Ok, I'm biased because I'm voting character this year. I think a good leader empowers people to do better and come together and has an empathetic voice that connects on a human level. I currently have 10% shares in a very small f&b group owns 2 restaurant outlets.

One of them have been hit with covid and we are suffering in sales. Our director somehow don’t believe in marketing and will not budge to allocate resources to hire a personnel. Our staff are underpaid so there are no incentives for them to go beyond their SOW.

why govt is taking 30 percent tax man …. ??Still a developing country and want to tax their citizens like a developed country. Just giving two shots of Covid vaccines free doesn’t mean you can charge 30% tax.

I have heard somewhere that even indirect taxes that they take through GST is enough to run the government and country… I think 10 percent tax is more than enough on all salary brackets above 10 lac in india.
