That’s a salary for a 3rd year software engineer...I’d pass
If you’ve got a family and such, $145K in SF is gonna be rough
Agreed! Sf is tough!
$50k is only a 13% bump on a $400k salary. Based on that, I’d stay at your current company where your reputation and network is better established. With the market doing doing so well, it’s bound to correct sooner or later and we all know LIFO when/if that happens. Only exception is if you hate it here or you’re looking to exit consulting into a C level position.
Not enough info on the next opportunity. seems like good money, but how well funded is the company? How close to exit/IPO? Revenue? Growth? Leadership team? So many questions.
This sounds like uber
Nope
Unless that company actually IPOs, you’re looking at 145k TC..make damn sure that the company has a bright future and will actually IPO before you give up your reputation and guaranteed salary
Isn't an IPO a bit more mature than a startup?
More mature startup. Already based in SF area and no kids.
Leadership team is strong.
I feel a 50k bump if you’re already making ~200 isn’t worth the risks that come with this move, obviously this’ll vary by a lot, but I personally would want higher base and higher bonus to make that equivalent to your current base + bonus, so then TC would roughly be a 100k/year raise.
In that case then go for it!
Can you explain 450 equity... This is 450k?!
