I feel ya. What kind of role are you looking for?
I understand its frustrating but also you gotta think that some companies that were NOT doing remote before covid, has huge trust issue with the idea of remote work.
For entry level especially, at least in my area of SWE, getting a help from senior level is critical and one of the most important thing. So for doing "hybrid" or full remote is not very efficient when it comes to that point of view.
Also, a lot of startup companies are doing remote and ask you to wear multiple hat - they just don't have money, which means they are open to hire entry level of workers. So... there you go.
All i can suggest is either you take time, work on improving your skills and find thr "perfect one" for entry level, or suck it up and hussle for a bit, leave entry level and then look for a remote job.
I agree with SWE1. If you’re entry-level and wanting a remote role, you’re either going to need to embrace those red flags for a while or work somewhere else and get more experience.
I will say having prior remote work experience was definitely one thing that helped me get into a better remote role BUT my some of my earlier remote experiences 100% looked like 🚩🚩🚩
