Got a call transferred to me with the notes:
“Customer wants to speak to someone who can speak English. Customer complaaining about my accent.”
And honestly that never sits right with me.
Like, the rep probably was speaking English, just not in the exact accent the customer wanted.

It’s wild how some people will dismiss someone’s entire effort and skill just because they don’t sound like them.

Anyone else get these kinds of “requests” that make you cringe a little?

Someone came in and ordered 60 bacon double cheeseburgers… my crew thought I was kidding. 😅

Back when I was getting started in the food world, I worked flipping burgers at In-n-Out. A man came in and said the burgers he had gotten weren’t right. He dumped the food on the counter and then he started throwing them back behind the counter. We gave him a refund and then his demeanor completely changed. He was calmer and he told us to have a great day as he left us to clean up the mess he made.

At a different job I had a customer trying to swindle me in telling me that there was a deal in an item that never had a deal or promotion for sale so he made me scan the item 20 times before believing me. Obviously, he finally let it go but I scan it with an inventory scanner that showed me all of the sale price promotions if there were any

I had customers tell me how amazing the salads I make for them. It’s great that I can make salads that good!
