Got a slightly low offer on a job I interviewed for. Is it just generally accepted that offers have some wiggle room to negotiate? Would be happy with another 10-15k.

Don't ask don't get. Always negotiate.

like

Yup. And if they retract your offer after asking, it wasn't the job for you!!

External. For some extra context, the new role is a step up in responsibility, but I also had a look at benefits and things like health insurance, 401k etc. are better quality and also cheaper at my current firm. I would want the pay bump to account for both of those.

Always negotiate. I moved roles about a year and a half ago from another BB. My salary was initially quoted $10k lower, I asked for more and was given what I asked after a day's turnaround.

What if it was internal?

They won't retract a job offer because you ask for more. That literally has never happened in the history of the world.

I had a lot of meetings/interviews with a service line and office I was thinking of transferring. The last time I had a call with a partner was two Fridays ago (10 days). And they told me they’ll discuss and let me know in the next week. I sent a follow up email after my meeting. But haven’t heard anything back. Is it a bad sign? Or should I try reaching out again?

Two job opps at the moment. One I love the culture. Decent brand name (could do better) but absolutely loved everyone I interviewed with. The other is the best brand name in the business, but working somewhat busy season hours (not fully busy season hours like 80-90 a week but like 65) and okay with the culture. Basically don’t hate it don’t love it. Will very much accelerate my career way more than option 1. Thoughts?

I was at a job for 8 months before I was furloughed due to covid. I’ve been at my current job 6 months since then. A recruiter from a start up I interviewed with in B school reached out asking me to apply for a position. I’m very interested in the company (exit out of consulting),the role, and the comp structure. Is the bouncing around bad? Should I consider the job or wait until I hit a year before leaving?

We are building a product , why would I not follow a “product build process “??

Does anyone else find it ridiculous that firms require a minimum daily time entry? For example, my firm requires us to bill 6 hours a day, whether or not it’s billable work, we have to have a minimum of 6.0 in our time entry system every day or we get flagged. If we’re on vacation we have to pre-bill 6.0 a day. Why the hell do firms do this???

The group i’m in is a sweatshop with regular 4 am nights and am looking for a way out before I get trapped.
