Have a formal offer at Citi for 120K as an AVP in the NY office. Currently making 92K at my current role where I feel there’s not much room to grow anymore. Is this a fair offer? I currently WFH pretty much full time at my current role which has been amazing, but it seems like Citi would require me to be there 2-3 days in the office per week - and this is something I’m very hesitant about. Thoughts on how to approach this?

I think crypto is going to zero eventually, so there’s that
Yeah right. Bitcoin going to zero and fiat going to infinity.
No plan to pay down the national debt, fund bankrupt pensions, mitigate the soaring cost of healthcare, or make homeownership a tangible goal...
But Bitcoin has no prospects...
Girl bye.
I’d say do it. Even if you don’t believe in cryptocurrencies themselves, coinbase is still a good startup with a lot of smart people. You’ll learn lots and set a good foundation for a career in tech and product management .
Coinbase is solid for a crypto marketplace. However, are you wanting to exit now? You will certainly grow your income much more staying at BCG awhile longer and potentially leverage even better exits at higher pay. Are they offering equity? That would be the larger factor because Coinbase could be acquired down the road
Go for it- if it doesn’t work out you can always come back
Very true. I have left and come back twice in my career
If you want to be a PM in the long run, I say take it and see what you can learn. You may bounce around as a PM in different areas of tech before you find your niche. Consulting probably won’t teach you any more stuff that will be relevant to PMing than what you’ve already learned at this point. Regarding the salary bump from the BCG promotion, unless you would plan on staying an extra year to gather some of the benefits of that higher salary, probably won’t make a difference. The company hiring you should have their own pay bands and what they want to invest in a role, so what you’re making at BCG is moot. In some states, employers can’t even ask for your current salary anyways
Are you gonna be promoted to consultant soon?
In just base salary it’s an 80% increase- not technically double but definitely still a significant jump
I interviewed there recently. Then turned down final round. It honestly sounds like one of the stupidest businesses out in the valley. What specifically about the business do you find interesting? Do you really think they have any runway? Happy to discuss over DM
@OP did you have any prior product experience? That’s awesome
