Hi fishes,
I am planning a switch so was going through some salary data for a software engineer. My ex-senior manager recommended me a website: Growceed.com which helped me a lot in getting clarification about a lot of things but I am in doubt whether the average salaries of software engineer mentioned on Growceed.com really that much in top MNC companies.

Waaaaaay more. $125-150 / hr, minimum
I would look for about double your current base salary.
100/hour minimum
You also pay taxes...its your responsibility for you to take that amount out every pay check soooooo ask for wayyyyyy more 200
I agree with PwC1. I get 110/hr offers like this. Not quite double, but under the right circumstances I would accept them.
You won't get paid off your current B4 salary - that is irrelevant. You need to know the market rate for an independent with the skill sets the role is for. Ask any independents in your network who've filled similar roles or hopefully you've been able to see client budgets and know what they are paying for diff labor sources
Keep in mind all insurance costs will be 100% you if you take the role. Make sure you are getting considerably more than you make today to cover that and then some.
Waaaay more. 150+ at the very minimum
OP - you have to consider insurance cost, 401K, other benefits like mobile bill, 20-30 days paid day off, sick leaves etc before making any decision.. add up everything and also have 3 months as delta if you project ends and need another one.. what ever number you get, put at least 20% raise on top.. I have seen people getting $200-$250 hrs of they have core skills
You might want to take the different independent contractor tax rate into consideration too.
What skills do you have that you got this offer for?
90/hr
Then meet at 85
Op - What's industry , type of work ?
Travel required? If so, who's paying for it?
Just don't do it. Next time when you try for a full time position, the employer will frown upon this
The way more people are right. Look up how much more you will have to pay in taxes as a 1099; you will be shocked.
Program management. Capital projects and strategy. Makes sense. Thanks for the advice. I will check into taxes for sure.
