TMT and SSG are going to merge so it’s not 100% clear how that will impact case mix for new hires but I think it will be two tracks. Traditional SSG work is probably 70% TDD, 15% CDD, 15% strategy.
Have worked with SSG on multiple projects - they're a great group to be in if you're interested in pursuing tech down the road. The best tech exits I've seen from EYP are usually from SSG
I would really dig in to the technical due diligence that they do, it is very different from CDD work and requires a very different set of thinking / personal interests
In terms of prestige, I think they are probably the most prestigious in the type of work they do even though Bain is trying to copy them ( that team comes from Parthenon’s SSG group)
BUT, I’d argue that they are not quite as prestigious as the legacy / core Parthenon group that acquired them years ago. Hope this makes sense!
For TDD work, do I need to be technical savvy? I am an ex-consultant. I did multiple cdds but haven’t done tdd before. Let me dig deeper into what tdd is about. And is the tdd hour as bad as cdd? Thanks all

Depends on what you mean by tech savvy haha. We have some super successful people who are liberal arts majors, but they have put in effort to learn about different dynamics for tech debt and scalability. If you’re trying to come in as an MBA hire they typically have some sort of engineering (not necessarily software) or product management experience or at least TMT diligence work.
