Got to final rounds at two Salesforce implementation firms, with the summarized feedback being, "great candidate, but not a great fit for the open role we have. We will contact you if the other roles open up."

Anyone have any success stories around this situation where they got followed up with the "better fit roles"? Or should I just consider them closed opportunities and move on?

HR is scheduling the interviews without checking time with me. One interview was scheduled and then it was rescheduled to a different time at last minute. I wasn't available at that time so I mailed the HR for a different slot. They again scheduled it for a later date without checking the time with me.

Interviewed with Chicago court 2 weeks ago; they decide mid-August. Interviewed with DC judge last week; hear from him by this Friday. Chicago said if I need an answer before August, they'd try to make a decision about me sooner.
Should I ask Chicago for an answer? Or should I wait until there's an offer from DC judge? Maybe seems better to withdraw before an offer is made rather than ask for time to think about it/turn down DC? What's proper etiquette?
