Guidehouse folks! What perks do you have, i.e. coffee and meals expensed, Uber/Lyfts expensed, flexible/remote work?

Btw, a lot of people are on the bench because they don’t get along with the client and / or team members they were staffed with or they end up doing something that is not aligned with their skill set or what they negotiated before being hired. So, word of caution... if you want something more structure, get into a big4 and avoid public sector

like

Hahahaha Hahahhaa you’re dreaming!! But, to be fair, offices are not bad when you’re on the bench or can work from the office (sometimes free lunch, free drinks and free coffee). Depending on the engagement, you can wfh... the projects I’ve been staffed for so far we’re flexible. But it’s not always the case...

Our clients are typically local so these travel perks (expensing food/transportation) aren’t really relevant. Sometimes there’s firm/team sponsored events so there’ll be free food. There’s also often flexible work. That’s not atypical.

Free meals and taxis home when you working late enough, but this isn’t really a perk...

Do we know if there is a sponsoring partner that oversees this benefit/ program that I could have more of a heart to heart conversation with? Not getting too far with the general email box and admin contact. From the benefit policy documentation, my understanding is that EY reimburses employees for surrogacy / adoption related expenses up to $50k lifetime. However, anything related to IVF or medical procedures has to go through insurance (also limited to $50k lifetime benefit). Continued…

I have been working remotely since covid getting nothing but positive reviews. My company is not remote friendly and is now telling me I have to return to the office or I lose my job. I just found out a co-worker had a remote position created for them, without a job posting, without an interview and without the experience required (normally a license or certification would be mandatory). I understand life isn’t fair but is there an ethical problem with this?

I just got a really great offer, only downside is the eligibility for maternity leave is after 12 months of employment. We got a faint positive today but have had so many chemical pregnancies over the past year that I am not confident it will stick this time BUT I am on aspirin and progesterone for this try … so it could.. I want to see if I could negotiate being eligible earlier but I also don’t want them to think I’m pregnant when I’m not actually… How would you approach the conversation?
