H1B or not… whatever side you’re on, you can’t deny that there is clearly a rise in racism/xenophobia towards a particular race of people. Especially a group of people who have been very successful in America and commit little to almost zero crime. To those thinking this will make more “white jobs” available, it won’t. Sponsorship is almost non existent now anyways.

You say “particular race of people” who “have been very successful in America and commit little to zero crime,” yet avoid stating or defining which “race” this is. In consideration of our current climate and reality, you’re gonna need to be specific.

EY1 blanket response when anyone disagrees with them is some variation of “racists and bigots always do what __________ did”. I hope you grow out of that.

This group is also extremely racist in their hiring and promotion policies.

Indians do have a caste system that is alive and well. How the heck no one had mentioned this yet is weird.

Wait, so you’re telling me skin color doesn’t matter in terms of someone’s success nor does it make you commit crimes. Did you just destroy the white privilege belief

This is why the groups being targeted now should speak up when it’s others that were/will be targeted. At the end of the day, they will come for us all and intersectional unity is critical.

This group being targeted now is actually one of the most racist and vile minority group in America. They basically hate every minority group

Regular Americans no longer care if you call this racist because it is nothing other than a deflection. There are nearly 5M Indians in America and there are less than 100K Americans in India.

Also when I have worked in Hyderabad, I would have hardly ever considered calling the people living there racist when I was a guest.

likefunny

Clearly nothing is wrong with it. Indian Americans and immigrants have been overwhelmingly successful in the United States. Clearly it is also ok because the United States has been welcoming and seen its Indian population grow by over 3M people since the year 2000, up from 1.8 million, which is a 174% increase in just two decades.

H1-B is clearly being abused and manipulated and 70% of H1-B's are from India. We don't currently have a shortage of workers where this program needs to continue operating as it is now. If the talent is that sorely needed than an additional $100K fee shouldn't be that big of a deal right?

There is no racism in this country as long as you are a conservative white heterosexual male.

There is a fair amount of prejudice against older men, regardless of race. In essence, everyone is prejudiced against everyone else, some people and companies work to overcome their prejudice, others bask in it. choise Them carefully.

Unsure what you mean by sponsorship being non-existent now

I am going to move in the next few month to a location with a higher cost of living due to personal circumstances. I love my current company but I’ve only been here a little over a month, how should I go about requesting if it’s possible to get a salary increase? Might be a stretch but thought it might be worth mentioning.

I’m so bad at writing the background/ facts section for briefs… it always gets heavily edited and no one is giving me constructive feedback other than “advocate more”. In contrast, my legal argument section is generally without edits. For context, first defense lit job post appellate clerkship. Is this normal?? Any tips for getting better other than “advocating more”?

Anyone struggling with imposter syndrome? When I worked for a very well known Fortune500 tech company I couldn't help but feel major imposter syndrome. Everyday was a struggle and tried to keep myself small so no one would find out I was a "fraud." Looking back on it now, wiser and more experienced, I realized how detrimental feeling that way

Can anyone provide any advice, or has anyone successfully moved away from sales?
