Need advice. Have some credit card debt that I’ve been working to pay off. Have made progress but want to lower it quickly. We have dual income, with a house (~$300k in equity), 1 kid and 1 on the way. I’ve looked into debt consolidation via HELOC but also have ~$80k in vested equity in my company that I haven’t touched. Get equity refreshes every year. Would it be smarter to cash out $15k-$20k of that to pay debt vs. a HELOC at ~5% given that will still require mthly payments

My YOE is 4.3 and ctc is 13 lpa. I am currently nominated for H1B 2023 and my petition is pending with USCIS for approval after lottery. I have heard H1B process could take months to complete. Should I waiting for the H1B or make a swtich? Is it worth waiting for H1B and how much saving one can make per month if traveling to US?

General corporate in NY looking to lateral into tech transactions at one of the EC/VC firms. I’ve heard that I may get a class cut if I make the move but I’m ok with that. My worry is that EC/VC firms are crazy busy work differently from general corp, I also won’t have control over my hours, and potentially worse based on how billing differs (block billing on a few clients vs having to work with 15 or more startups). Anyone deal with this before: I inherited a severely under developed team including a sr analyst who clearly was doing the bare minimum, if that. Over the last 6 months I have had to coach him and correct simple mistakes in his work and recently it got so bad that I told him he would receive a low rating in his evaluation. He lashed out, involved HR saying he doesn’t understand why, and now my review points out stuff that I would have let slide.
