Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

Agree with S1. This is the perfect situation to negotiate because you have nothing to lose. You're not going to accept the offer as it stands, so why not push it??
Thanks for your input. The recruiter didn't respond to either my email or voicemail.
Got another rejection email for a job that I really wanted. The interviews went well, lasting up to 35 minutes each. Becoming disillusioned. I know that I'm getting interviews is better than not hearing anything at all, but this really deflates me.
Try to negotiate the salary. Tell them what you will bring to the team. Don’t reject it until you negotiate.
This is a recruiter from the company. How can I negotiate, even though the recruiter stated the salary won't go any higher than what was advised.
Easy - “I appreciate the insight on the current compensation offer for the role. I’d expect this role to pay (insert your desired comp) but it sounds like that isn’t possible with your team. Is that accurate?”
