Had an interview with Amazon for an SFA role. Behavioral went strong, but I got tripped up on driver-based modeling. I answered from a variance analysis view (headcount misses, RIF impact, budget bridges), but realized they wanted operational inputs → forecast outputs. I pivoted to a chargeback model (hours, labor cost, rates, utilization → revenue, margin, profitability). Good learning moment.

I work in a strategy role at a gaming company. While I have the designation of a manager, I am not managing anyone. They were going to hire people who I would manage but due to recession it’s not happening. I was earlier in consulting and left at the senior level. How does one pivot into senior roles without having an opportunity to manage anyone?

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. I accepted a FADP offer but I have lifelong crippling anxiety It leads to (TMI) diarrhea, I can’t sleep at night, among a lot of other issues. I see a therapist and have their support in school accom. I appear high functioning and ever since uni went remote my life and performance has only improved.
