I have a small patch of purple crocus flowers and the onion I gave up on last year are sprouting this year. I’ll be starting seeds indoors soon. It’s still too cold in Boston or at least too cold for me to do any gardening. I’m waiting until April to get things planted.

In my San Francisco yard at this moment (as well as most of those around me), the deceptively pretty but insidious and invasive Oxalis pes-caprae 😅. It's very hard to get rid of!

We have a few wild Allium triquetum in bloom, too. They are weedy but make a tasty pesto so I keep a patch of them around in a corner of the garden.

One random daylily has opened but all the rest are still a ways off.

Not a lot of blooms this time of year, generally. We just hit the end of the cold/rainy season so in a few weeks it'll be a very different story!

SIL and BIL told us excitedly last weekend that she was pregnant (had literally just found out, so barely four weeks). This week she tells us she’s not pregnant anymore :(. What house plants are NOT toxic to cats? I swear every time I go to buy a new plant and look it up it says “toxic to pets”. I have a dumb cane which I know is toxic but didn’t realize when I bought it so now I just keep it in the laundry room away from my cat when I’m at work but that means no daytime sunlight. Would like suggestions on which plants I can buy that are safe to leave alone with my cat 😸
