What should my requested salary be for a Senior Intelligence Analyst position with CrowdStrike ? I have a bachelors degree and 5 years of experience as an intelligence analyst. Current salary is 56k in NC, but when I was in DC I was making 86k (big locality change)… which makes me confused on what I should expect for a remote job.
Cushman & Wakefield Interested in a Sales Associate position at Cushman & Wakefield. I have experience as a government analyst for 7 years but nothing related to commercial real estate. I want to become a more competitive applicant but not sure where to start. Are there any certificates, skills, or knowledge that I should be learning in my free time?

Ignore the job title as it hasn’t been updated yet. I’m with the VBA currently.
So here’s the fun part that no one is talking about. A lot of people who were at an agency that is telework heavy and/or remote are screwed now with the RTO order and may have to leave anyway. Like me. I live over 80 miles away from my office and only had to come in once a week previously. Now I am forced to suddenly start shopping for a new job in the private sector because I can’t make the commute make sense with my budget.
Is the resignation super risky? That’s an understatement. But before we all start talking about who’s an idiot and who isn’t, they haven’t given a lot of us much of a choice. I might be one of those idiots. Maybe I’ll post about my experience if I take that route.
Greene is right. Last time he was in and there were a bunch of wrongful terminations. They were rehired w backpack later, after things got sorted. It's worth the hope or at least compensation later.
Haven’t taken it yet. But I am seriously considering it. I don’t judge that who will. It is quite wrong to call them idiots. The reason I understand and sympathize is because I do think the administration is going to do everything they can to make your work life miserable for the next 4 years. I understand wanting to walk away from that and get paid while you find a job that won’t treat you like a POS. I have 16 years in and am a veteran so am fairly well taken care of if they decide to RIF, but the bigger question is how will the mood be once they come through and hatchet some of my closest friends who just started in the last few years. Another reason I won’t call anyone an idiot for taking it is because some (myself included) might feel that if enough of us leave then maybe there won’t be a need for a RIF. I’m happy to fall on the sword for my coworkers, I just wish we knew what the ultimate goal was. If leaving still won’t hold any of this off I would stay. But if going would save someone else’s skin I’m fine with it. I left for most of his term last time and he was much less intense then. I think this just sets the overall tone moving forward which is we think what you do doesn’t matter and wastes money.
You’re speaking my language here. They’re still back and forth with whether BUE will have to return to office off of a very very heavy telework schedule. Me living 80 miles from my office, I can’t swing five days a week here with gas, parking expenses, and just my own goddamn time.
My feelings are, even if my telework were to survive this, it’s going to be threatened again and again before the year is up. Then when it’s time to renew the agreements, what happens? High chance that they eliminate it then. I’d rather get ahead of this than spend the rest of the year stressed out and caught with my pants down later on. At least this way I’ll have a bit of breathing room.
Then just like you said, maybe me leaving will allow at least one person who is less fortunate than myself to keep their gig.
You're an idiot if you took it. There is no legal precedent for anyone on deferred resignation to get any more than 10 days of pay in a given year. They can, and will, legally stiff you and blame you for resigning.
The federal government has offered early retirement buyouts many times in the past. And also voluntary separation with up to $25,000. I don’t think your 10 day theory is very correct. Plus this current administration doesn’t always stick to legal precedent. I would hardly say someone is an idiot for taking it if they honestly fear they are likely to just get axed in a RIF.
It's totally a scam. Don't fall for whatever President Elon claims, you'll wind up disadvantaged over it. Be very careful with what you believe, there will be many lies told and if you agree to something that's not legally binding you will have been fleeced. Like Senator Kaine said, Trump will stiff you just like he's stiffed all those contractors over the years.
Finally someone using logic. Thank you 😊.
I’ve had no choice, but to take it. I was just two weeks away from the end of my probation period when I received my termination papers. Reached out to the union and the eeo division for my agency. Didn’t hear back, so I reached out to HR just trying to see if I could do TCC. They said they would rescind the termination if I took the resignation. I truly don’t believe any of what they say about benefits and pay. If I’m wrong I’ll come back and say so. But I’m supposed to receive paperwork stating that’s a resignation and all that from the memo. I just don’t want a removal on my record. That’s all I’m hoping for.
I wouldn’t qualify for unemployment as I had a second job. The resignation plan is working out for me. I am being paid this week, my benefits are still active, and I’m accumulating time. I also received my step increase on my anniversary like I was supposed to. I’m not as bitter about it as I was. I would probably be terminated anyway as this foolishness continues. My probation was up feb 12th, so I wouldn’t have been in the batch from last week. However, the information coming out says they are reducing our agency at least 40%. I would’ve been fresh off probation and admin. I wouldn’t have made it long. At least this is giving me breathing room and still lets me accumulate time.
I think the only people seriously looking at it were planning on leaving or retiring soon anyway. It's pretty much a joke in the office. I look for cubicles with a framed picture of the current president and ask them if they are looking into it.
I thought it was panther teeth marks to look out for?
I haven't taken it but I'm not so positive it's a complete scam, though I do think the whole thing is kind of bleak and scary. I think they might follow through on paying people, but do we really want all of our government agencies hollowed out and replaced with this administration's picks? Probably not good overall for the country
It might also be a master of how high up the food chain you are. If you can survive and are middle to lower paid employee i don’t think itll matter one way or the other. Especially if quiet and keep head down. I cannot imagine him shutting whole federal departments down especially since he’s got newly appointed interim EEOC. The laws for govt employees so far are dry strict . ,but as someone mentioned he seem impervious to law. I think talk to people you know and trust research your local law edify yourself the best you can. Hope it works out for you regardless of what happens
I did and found out. All law enforcement agency are exempt .
so Is the Csr position exempted from this as well? Why send the email out without going full detail
Hopefully NO ONE accepted this crap!! I wouldn't trust these goons, let alone an elected criminal president that's a known con man...if you decide to, GOOD LUCK and hope you get your money as promised!!! smh
Keep your job because it be hard to find another that match your pay scale
Yes!! It will be a blessing to finally leave FEMA!!
I don't think anyone should take this deal. It's not fair. It's not right, but if you do have to take it. There's no judgment on my part. I just hope and pray that you have something else. Lined up aside hustle your own business or something where would make sense. We all know how hard it is to move from one agency to the next. Imagine going from the public sector to private. The pay will not be there and you'll be starting over. The union has been very quiet i'm interested in knowing what they're plan is.
Many were stressed and demoralized and in a state of mind when that email came out. I'm sure it was automatic for many. Commenter need to be nicer. We're all in this crap together. Many will leave net or no. The question is asked in good faith. With the economy crashing, many expect to lose their jobs either way. As for my agency, no one has received anything yet. And it's likely they'll wait until after the deadline to reveal whether it was real or not. It's not like anyone is keeping them to any of the laws or rules at this point.
I’m going to end up taking it unless I end up getting some miraculous email over night saying I’m safe. I’m a probationary employee only 4 months in. And I was the last hired within our area which makes up for 4 offices
I would definitely take it if I was only 4 months in. Cut your losses. If by chance you get 7 months pay it’s a good ROI, but start looking for a new job ASAP because you’ll have lots of company, including everyone who is quitting their RTO jobs. If you’re lucky there is a local office hiring.
Best wishes for everyone going through these difficult times.
For all of those who are worried about having a termination on your record as a result of the current federal administration, I would just site "DOGE Action" as reason for leaving role.
I routinely hire people and have been doing so for 30 years. People get terminated and people get let go during probationary periods for all sorts of reasons. It's a very SHORT SIGHTED hiring manager who doesn't dig into that reason for a well qualified candidate who interviews well.
And smart interview candidates bring up the reason for termination in their interviews to get it out in the open. Can be for family reasons, could be for having made poor judgment but that have since learned from and are wiser now, could be because the workplace had become unbearable.
My two cents.
Take the buyout.
Federal Workforce will be reduced by 30%
Move out of any expensive DC area rented apt
Move elsewhere
Get on with your life, and don't look over your shoulder
Pivot in another direction.
