Yes I was able to find a general inpatient pharmacist job in a hospital . No residency and only worked in retail prior to. I would say leverage LinkedIn update your profile looking for work. Look at hospitals mission statements and try and incorporate that into your about me description on your profile. . Check and see if the hospitals are having any open houses for all positions. Go to as many as you can if there are different hospitals available in your area. They usually do maybe twice a year and attend. For me I was able to sit down with the Pharmacy Director and I was honest and sincere about what a transition and being able to use my transferable skills.
Try berger hospital Circleville ohio
Try smaller regional hospitals and volutlnteer for 2nd shift and 3rd shift positions. Apply for weekend PRN positions at smaller hospitals (psych, rehab, LTAC etc). These usually will hire without a residency if you are experienced as a pharmacist. Also look into openings in the outpatient pharmacies within a hospital system. Those are easier to get to and then you can network your way into a inpatient staffing position.
I am a Staff Pharmacist at a hospital in a city with a population of ~180,000, no residency. I know people who started PRN at hospital and was able to get a full time position that way.
