We just got a significant boost (9%) but that is highly unusual and really just a reflection of the ridiculous economy we're currently in. In reality, it's like not getting a raise at all since the cost of living is going up almost the same amount.
I think 5% has been the more common one and it's completely valid to raise if you consider cost of living!

In 23 years in LTC, I only got one large COL raise, and that was about 20 years ago. Especially after CVS bought the company, raises were 2% or less.
