Why would you need an MBA to pivot to HR as a recruiter, can’t you just do it now
I did an MBA to pivot my career. My career transition was slower than what I expected but it happened and looking back I’m so glad that I did it. I was working while going to school so I think that caused the transition be slower. Other than helping me to switch careers I think it was worth it. If you are able to take an in person MBA it is worth it because of the resources you get from the school are more readily available and the quality of relationships you are able to make. You also get what you put into it so if your goal is to transition, you have to do the work such as networking and everything that comes with applying to new jobs. I think some schools are better than other in terms of assisting with a career transition and the resources that are available. It can be a lot to manage at once.
What I got most out of the MBA was a boost in self-confidence and the network and friendships I got to built. Keep in mind that even with an MBA if you are transitioning careers you might have to start at a lower level depending how far stretch the switch is. I found that the school I went to provided a good amount of opportunities to network with different companies from different industries and had good career guidance and resources.
I also think that you don’t need an MBA to switch careers. Other eduction options, good networking skill, and the ability to market your current skills could get you there.
Good luck!
I got my Masters in Engineering Management and it definitely helped me pivot into more advanced positions within Product Management despite minimal direct experience. I think it really depends on the field and the degree.
Top MBA school provides you with a network which is great, it's a platform to be around the great minds.
I would recommend a top school MBA to people who say why MBA, well you know why.
