Rising Star
I have not for a wedding, but have for other events ( big group attending a sporting event.
The key is.
1. how many rooms will you really need
2. Preference is a block whete you do not have to guarantee a minimum number- these type will typically expire 30 days out.
3. Deal diectly withrhe onsite manager. He/sheis the one wanting to fill those rooms. If you have a relationship because yourcompsny puts a lot of people there even better.
Your success depends on the time of year and what else is going on in town. College town football weekend, it's not happening.
4. Always ask for stuff that reduces the cost to your guest, but costs them nothing (or not much) free parking, free wifi, free breakfast.
Sounds like it is worth a try, but I don’t really hear much good luck with getting great rates on hotel room blocks. If anything I’d say to just get as many quotes as you can for the area and go off of that. Also make sure you look over the agreement, for any fees or extras you aren’t aware of.
Yeah talk to the Event Planners at the hotel, tell them you are planning a wedding party stay and ask for their special rates. I suggest the Marriott.
