Has anyone made the change from law to consulting, interested in any changes but specifically at a firm like McKinsey or Boston Consulting Group?

Have a friend who went from biglaw to in house to BCG (transitioned to consulting). Have another friend that went from biglaw to Bain. I’ve also heard of people going from biglaw to McKinsey. All that to say: it’s very possible if you know how to market yourself to them.

Would like to learn more about this as well

Also have a friend who went from BigLaw to McKinsey. He followed the same recruiting path that MBAs follow to become an associate, including prepping and completing the case study/tests. Did you go to a law school that had a business school as well? I think that could be a good place to start, look for alumni who are at one of the big consulting firms and ask for their input. They might be able to refer you to the team that recruits professionals into the associate "path".

Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match?
