A family member gifted us Taking Cara Babies. We used it with our twins and it worked well. It’s hard at first but it does work if you stick with it. We ended up buying the second session too for when they were older, also worked.
I will say it worked best with my daughter. My son was very colicky — it worked with him too but definitely took more patience.
hi yes, currently sleep training my 8 month old and sleep trained my 2 year old when he was 8 months too. we did gentle ferber. premise is to put them down super drowsy but not fast asleep (i rocked and fed my kids full bottles the laid them down in the crib on their stomachs - yes mattress is breathable and they were not swaddled) and patted their backs for a minute or two then left the room. we would let them cry for one minute, go in and do a check in where we would pat their back and say everything is ok and shush, after a minute walk out. then we would wait five minutes, and repeat the process. next we would wait ten minutes. we did up to 15 minutes for two days and if needed on the third day we did up to 20. my first still needed a bottle feed at night so we would do that around 2am, but my second is already sleeping through the night on her second night! I dont have the heart to hear them cry so my amazing MIL did this method with my second for me. I would kind of break the rules with my first and my husband and I would have to switch nights so I truly feel thats why it took longer with him. good luck!
also this is modified from the normal gentle ferber method. the normal method says dont feed to sleep which blows my mind bc the milk soothes and helps them sleep through the night. we also put them down basically asleep, not awake like it says. it helps them get a good stretch of sleep before their next waking and when they do wake up its later in the night and they are more tired, so not as willing to cry as long which in turn helps level their cortisol levels, imagine them starting the night screaming? idk this modified method really works for us. dont feel like you have to play by the exact rules - you know your baby the best!
