Fast paced. Grow in career quicker. A lot of oportunities. You wear a lot of hats and need to be flexible and willing to roll with whatever the business needs. Don’t work at a startup if you want a traditional agency role and career. Working late and on weekends is expected from time to time.
Yeah but working late and on weekends is expected from agencies too. Proof: me, now, on a Saturday night putting in my 70th hour of the week.
I’d gladly take startup money for this
Startups priorities will always be around the product, so engineering and product design, marketing and creative will serve the support role
Culture is much better bc the team is so tight. Can also be really stressful bc priorities are ALWAY in flux. Becoming profitable is such always hanging over everyone’s head and can cause weird tension. I’d totally recommend it over agency. That being said, all the agency experience I had really prepared me for startup life. You will wear multiple hats and do things out of your comfort zone.
You will also be on call 24/7. Get used to slacking at 1am on the weekend!
