EY here. Depends on role. My counselor, a senior manager, did once he had a kid. Hours are between 30-40 a week, lower expectations than client serving roles. His only concern is about job stability as he feels he is overpaid for the role. But he is also using this year or two to enjoy being a dad and interview for a new role at some point. He won’t receive a raise as long as he is in the role.
Gotcha. I'm interviewing for a assistant director role, and i feel like it's something that aligns with my experience and ultimate career goals. But based on what you're sayingz it sounds like there's little room for growth...at least in his position?

If you want to cap your career already by all means
I used to work as an internal software engineer at EY. Not CBS, but for the tax practice. It was extremely toxic and dysfunctional there at least. And most of the attractive work was either offshored or nearshored. That being said, I probably could have done literally nothing and still be there today making 6 figures. Guess it depends on what you are looking for career wise. A comfortable gig with a lot of work life balance with quite a bit of frustration and inability to feel like I ever accomplished anything and a career that was going nowhere.
