Hi Londoners ,
Moving in from outside UK.
Looking out for some areas in west / NW London where one can live with an infant on max 1400£ rental while requiring one partner to travel to Central occasionally for work and the other person 3 days a week to LHR.
Some Qns:
1) Will 1 Bedroom be too cramped for the infant to grow up? Should I raise budget?
2) I prefer being in family /childcare friendly areas. Had Harrow, Acton in mind . Are they good for my budget or any other suggestions?

I’ve heard the following used “Oh I’m a contractor with them so use my company email / ID but I’m supposed to use their code for the stay as they pay for it and won’t pay without their rate applied”

This is why I keep my old business cards from all my old employers
Old insurance cards work too (well at EY the logo was in the card)

Pretty sure I've been asked to verify in the past when I used the company code with my personal email (I showed my company ID so it was fine)
I use them all the time. I’ve only been asked once but I just showed my drivers license and they didn’t ask again. I’ve only recently stopped traveling every week.

I use the Friends and Family Rate as I maintained relationships with employees from having worked projects at HQ for years.
You have to have a piece of paper with their and their bosses email aligned. They can only use it for three rooms at a time. Most of the time, no one asks.
The discount at the end of the day is the same as AAA if not slightly worse in most cases.

Use it all the time, get asked for proof occasionally, I usually just say I’ll send an email and never do or say I’m a contractor/ there for an interview
