1/3 of my mba classmates (30-ish) are being let go at 1.5 year mark
Hello! The answer seems to be yes
For example, I am the bowl leader for the “surviving a pip “bowl and a ton of Bain professionals are joining that bowl
When I asked about this people from Bane said that this is happening
Sorry this happened to you
Same thing is happening at McKinsey
WOW I had no clue…
Everyone is doing it but BCG is the most aggressive of them all
For those two things to happen in less than a year gave me whiplash not gonna lie
McKinsey has definitely increased concerns and CTLs in the last year.
My understanding is Bain handled hiring more cautious than MB did and thus not needing to correct in the same way rn
Your understanding is incorrect re:Bain
Bain is doing it too
For my office, seems to be a small % at the 1 year mark but it is happening. More at 1.5
Yes at McKinsey but not exactly at the year mark.
If you joined in July 2022, you’re highly unlikely to have gotten concerns until Nov 2023. From that point you have a 3 month check in, and if you pass, until April. Then if you’re CTL in April you have 6-8 weeks search
There are people at the 1yr mark, but 1.75-2 years is probably closer to the avg
When I was at BCG early last year, people were being let go at the 7 month mark (cdc + 6 week check in)
The fact that it’s 1 year now is actually better.
