I left agency for Google. The benefits were much better at the time - though seems several agencies have caught up on mat leave. That said I think the flexibility and hours are much better than when I was agency side
Yes and yes. Life is a lot more manageable. It’s helps that most people I work with have kids, too.
^^ same as Google 1
I have been thinking of doing the exact same thing though I left the agency side for a while to run a production company and just went back to the agency world recently...Client side seems pretty decent in terms of work life balance but I still think that there are not a lot of friends who have producer roles.
For the moms that went to Google. Do you guys live in SF? Or closer to MV? My biggest concern with going tech is the commute and losing time with the kiddo. Husband works in SF, so if we move one of us loses out on kiddo time and then the other stuck being sole parent on duty for emergencies....and no one wants to be that person
I’m in NY, but live outside city so also have long commute. Still better commute and hours than many of my agency friends, but I know the west coast can be challenging. I get to WFH one - two days a week so that helps.
